Important Announcement regarding our Race Format for 2022:
We will be offering 4 options:
1) 2022 6 Hour & 24 Hour Canadian National Championship & IAU Bronze Certification solely on the 400m track (4 inside lanes will be dedicated to athletes competing for a spot on National 24 Hour Team and/or breaking records)
Please note: We have implemented 25 athletes maximum for each 6 Hour & 24 Hour event. Total: 50 Athletes
2) Approximate 1.6kms (1 mile) loop consisting of 1 lap (3 outside lanes) of the track then some gravel and pavement with minimal elevation gain. This course can be used by soloists and relay teams
3) 6 Hour & 24 Hour Relay Team - Overwhelmed to do it by yourself? Grab some friends!! Teams up to 3 for 6 Hour & up to 6 athletes for the 24 Hour.
4) Virtual - As a soloist or a team, bring Survivorfest Running Event to your community's 400m track or make your own special loop to raise awareness and funds for your local sexual assault centre. The 6 Hour & 24 Hour 2022 National Championships can NOT apply to virtual athletes.
We are excited to add Live-streaming & Race Commentators to help us stay connected. We can support each other with technology, especially if you are competing virtually. Your family, friends and fans can check in, share stories and be part of the action. If you are lucky enough to live within a 50kms radius of Edmonton, you might be surprised by a pop in visit from the Earthgroove EPIC-VIBE-SHARE Travelling Cheer Team
As you plan your special race day at the track or in your community, share your excitement!! Let us know your favourite songs to pass along to DJ Aaron from SOUNDfonix Entertainment!! Raise some money for an amazing cause & maybe win some prizes!!

Race Director Laura Sherrer-Townsend mentioned during an interview how she wanted to see all schools have education programs to prevent sexual abuse & violence.
In 2021, we continued with a virtual event and the results were amazing!!
We had athletes running circles in their neighbourhoods, around their community tracks (one was even asphalt!!) and one athlete ran the entire 24 hours on her treadmill in her apartment.
Despite having less athletes, we were able to donate $7710.50 to Saffron Centre AND awarded more belt buckles to 6 athletes who ran over 100 miles.
This told us it's time to have Survivorfest - the CELEBRATION of STRENGTH, SACRIFICE & SURVIVAL in communities ALL over the world.
