Since 2024, both of our race loops have earned IAU Bronze Label certification, making Survivorfest a recognized event for athletes chasing national team standards and record-eligible performances.
LOOP A - 400m TRACK (IAU TRACK BRONZE LABEL)
Limited to 70 athletes on the four inside lanes
Certified 400-metre track at Strathcona Athletic Park
Ideal for runners aiming for records or national team qualification
Smooth, consistent surface for precision pacing
LOOP B - 1.69km COURSE (IAU ROAD BRONZE LABEL)
Approximately 1.69 kilometres
Combines track, pavement, and concrete surfaces
Includes the outer three lanes of the same athletic track
Offers more variety and flow — perfect for solo and relay runners
COURSE FEATURES
Both loops are flat and fast, with minimal elevation change
Coordinated direction changes every 4 hours (1PM, 5PM, 9PM, 1AM, 5AM) for 12- and 24-hour athletes, and every 3 hours for 6-hour athletes
Fully stocked aid station beside the track with hot and cold drinks, plus meals and snacks throughout the 24-hour event
Over 18 hours of music to keep energy high for athletes, volunteers, and spectators
As tradition, “The Final Countdown” by Europe plays at 8:55 AM on Sunday to celebrate the final stretch
If you’re aiming to qualify for your national team or set a record, please contact your national running organization (in Canada: Association of Canadian Ultramarathoners). Once confirmed, let us know — we’ll handle ACU paperwork and MCM Timing validation for you.

Since 2024, Fast Feet Fridays has been a free 6-week program for kids aged 4–16, helping them train for the Survivorfest Kids’ Races. In 2024, it filled up fast with 150 participants!
Registration:
Use “Register as a Guest” on UltraSignup to sign up children. Enter the athlete’s name and your contact info — no separate account required.
Kids’ Race Distances (Friday, June 12) Ages 4–8: 400m (Loop A – one lap of the track) — 6:00 PM
Ages 9–12: 1600m (Loop B) — 6:30 PM
Ages 13–16: 2000m (Loop B + Loop A) — 7:00 PM
* All ages 4-8 run together; older kids start slightly ahead for safety.
